Stone Veneer

Veneer is where masonry meets waterproofing. The stone is the part you see. The water resistive barrier, lath, flashing, and weep details behind it are what keep the wall from rotting the sheathing. We install both natural thin veneer and manufactured stone the way the manuals specify, because veneer done wrong fails hidden, and veneer done right lasts decades.

Foundations, facades, chimneys, and interiors

The most common calls: dressing an exposed concrete foundation, refacing a dated brick chimney, adding a fieldstone or ledgestone accent to an entry or gable, and interior fireplace surrounds. Full bed natural stone, natural thin veneer, and manufactured stone each have their place. We'll show you samples against your house, not in a showroom.

The details behind the stone

On framed walls we install a proper water resistive barrier and rain screen details, galvanized lath, a scratch coat, and correct clearances at grade and roof lines. Mortar joints are struck to the profile you choose: overgrout, standard, or dry stack. These details are invisible on day one, and they're the whole difference by year ten.

Stone Veneer questions, answered

Natural or manufactured stone veneer?

Natural thin veneer is real stone. It costs more and never fades. Quality manufactured stone is lighter and cheaper, and looks good for a long time when it's installed with the right moisture details. We install both and price both in your estimate so you can decide with real numbers.

Can you veneer over my existing concrete foundation?

Yes. Exposed foundation walls are ideal candidates. Clean, sound concrete takes veneer directly. We handle prep, clearances at grade, and the transition details at siding.
